Committee information now available on Beta

Committees at the Scottish Parliament look rather different just now. While work and meetings continue, some committees are now meeting remotely. They’re using video conferencing to continue their work, and ensure the public can follow what’s happening.

Members of the Justice Committee meet online to question the Justice Secretary

If you’ve looked at the Beta website in the past few weeks, you’ll see it looks different too. We now have 12 committees on the new site, with 7 more to come in the next few weeks. Each committee has:

  • membership of the committee
  • contact details
  • an explanation of what that committee covers

We’ve created a guide to explain what committees are, what they do and how they work. The guide for witnesses has need-to-know information for people giving evidence to a committee. It’s been refreshed and is available on the site now.

There’s also committee information in the Debates and Questions section of the site, where all committee meeting Official Reports and videos for this session are available.

Coming up, we’ll be making sure all committees are listed on Beta before we start adding information to each committee page.

As always, we’d love to hear what you think of the committee pages. Please drop us a line at webproject@parliament.scot to let us know your thoughts.
