We’ve just launched our content on Visit the Scottish Parliament on beta. It felt a bit strange to create this content given the current situation with Covid- 19 and nobody being able to physically come to the building. But we’d like to highlight the ways that everyone can still access the business at Parliament through watching First Minister Questions, debates and committee meetings online.
We also want to promote the 360° virtual tour of our wonderfully unique building. Even though our doors remain closed for now, it’s one way we can continue to provide that experience.
Before going live with this section, we asked a group of users to test it out. We want to make sure that the message we’re giving to follow guidelines and #StayAtHome is clear but that we still want to welcome you online.
We’ve got more content planned for this section to bring the Parliament building to you, including image galleries of our wonderful architecture, art collections and past events. We’re also looking to add specialist virtual tours focusing on the Architecture and history. And we’ll be introducing an improved online booking system for First Minister Questions, debates and committee meetings. Look out for these updates over the coming months.
Welcoming you back
The Visit section is quite sparse for now. The current restrictions won’t last forever though and we’re ready with content to replace this version. These updates will help you to find the building and give you all the information you might need when planning your visit in person. We’re all looking forward to that day!
